Artist Statement

My work is a visual narrative of my surroundings and my past. I am a storyteller.

Through porcelain vessels and sculptural forms, I explore memory, nature, motherhood, and the enduring desire to notice the magic in the natural world around us. My work is inspired by gardens, children's literature, folk traditions, decorative arts, and the woods surrounding my home. Flowers, animals, botanical forms, and domestic objects become characters in larger narratives, helping me create a kind of contemporary folklore that feels both familiar and slightly enchanted.

I am interested in the vessel as both a functional object and a place for holding stories. Through color, surface, and form, I attempt to capture fleeting experiences: the joy of seasonal change, the wonder of childhood discovery, the comfort of familiar landscapes, and the nostalgia that accompanies their passing. My work draws equally from the world around me and the memories I carry, weaving together observation, imagination, and personal history.

Many of these themes emerge from my experiences as a mother, where wonder, storytelling, and care become daily practices. My recent work explores what it means to tend to something, whether a garden, a memory, a tradition, or a sense of belonging. Influenced by the rhythms of the natural world, these pieces reflect my belief that beauty, joy, and wonder are worth protecting.
